Does anyone know where I can find the latest firmware and software for the GlobeTrotter cards? I've got a few of them with the older firmware that only caters for 3G / GPRS but would like to flash them to enable HSDPA and EDGE.

On the vodacom web site.

I think we've been through this before?

According to Option, the GPRS/3G cards deployed in South Africa cannot be upgraded as they do not have the required hardware built in.

The Nozomi is upgradeable, but all cards were upgraded by Vodacom before they got shipped out last week.

But I'll buy a beer for anyone who manage to get the 'older' card upgraded!

Ok, I checked the vodacom website first, then the Option website, then the Vodafone website before posting here. The card I have is an Option Globetrotter, 3G/EDGE/GPRS and HSDPA ready. It works fine with VMC dash v6, but obviously it doesnt give you the option of HSDPA or EDGE. Will users who want to take advantage of HSDPA need to use a newer version of the VMC dash?

Downloads on Vodacom website:
Novatel U630
Option Colt
Option Fusion
Option Quad Lite
3G Linksys Router

Option Website:
Need to input your IMEI and s/n , send you packing off to Vodafone

Any ideas ?

Can you post the serial number on your card?

Or at least the first two letters?

V3G, just sent you a PM, any chance of getting the Nozomi firmware. I think this card might have been shipped before upgrading and perhaps thats why the PC picks it up as a GlobeTrotter ?

Got your PM and replied to it.

These are indeed Nozomi's so my beer is safe!

I'll find the firmware for you. PM me your current version so long, please.

The current production release is:

Model: GlobeTrotter 3G+
Revision: 3.15.0Hd (Date: Feb 06 2006, Time: 12:53:15)

mavx, this is what you've got, so it should all work.

Btw, VMC 6 doesn't show a HSDPA option. Select 3G Only. You should connect at 1.8 Mbps.

Correct, look at the flashing LED's to see on what you're connected. 3 or 4 fast flashes indicates HSDPA and 'normal' 3G will be 2 slower flashes.

I presume this is still the latest firmware and VMC for GlobeTrotter / Nozomi card?

Firmware is :
Model: GlobeTrotter 3G+
Revision: 3.15.0Hd (Date: Feb 06 2006, Time: 12:53:15)

VMC is :

3.17 is out, will find out why it's not on the web.
