Eskom doesn't have to report wasteful and irregular expenditure anymore

South African finance minister Enoch Godongwana has gazetted a new regulation which exempts Eskom from disclosing any irregular, fruitless, and wasteful expenditure amounts in its annual financial reports until 2025.

Published on 31 March 2023, the gazette stated the power utility would be exempted from this requirement of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and relevant Treasury Regulations for the 2022/2023, 2023/2024, and 2024/2025 financial years.

Ha ha ha..

Even if AdR points out the corrupt politicians... nothing will happen to them. Zondo nr 2 for 10 years... and nothing.

So it looks like the board and senior management are looking to Outa to charge them for being delinquent directors in the near future. Couldn't happen to nicer people. Crowd funding anyone?

Given the state of this mess, you'd expect governance and controls to be applied way more strictly than usual. But I guess when the drive is to pillage rather than to fix and party before country then no surprises. Stoopid voters! Ai

A state of disaster and energy crisis caused by corruption. Solution? Turn a blind eye.

Guess they need to make up for the diet they experienced under De Ruyter, time for a binge!
