Going rate for tiling? (Floor, porcelain 600x600)

Famous last words. Been there, screw that. Picking up and carting away is a big job, little cuts all over over, then smoothing the wall of floor. It is a lot of work, and you make it sound so easy.
It's hard work, but not skilled work as tiling is. So if you are looking to saflve cash on a job, that's the part to do it. As long as the previous wall tiles were done correctly (or let me rather say as long as the tiler wasn't the one to try and straighten the wall) it is a tough but doable job (do expect about two days chisseling away at the walls though)

Also been there. If I had a bigger budget would also opt for a hands off approach, but then I didn't

Can any of you guys please recommend me a good tiler please. I'm in S Suburbs, Cape Town. I have 3 quotes, cheapest was R4000 for removing 4m2 of floor tiles and retiling. Insane.

I'm also I'm Cape town. I recently tiled and found that the tiler we used charges different rates according to the tiles and area that needed to be tiled. He charged us R150 per square for tiling labour. When we did have something small like your size he did charge us a "minimum" rate he has which covers him and his guy for the day. The rate was R1800 per day. We needed 2 days as 1 day was for removal of tiles and prep work with the 2nd day being tiling. So in my opinion the R4000 sounds about right if he is a good tiler who knows his stuff. The tiler also came equipped with everything he needed for the job (except materials). I did not have to run around looking for tools because the tiler did not have his own. Previous house we had a very unprofessional guy where I felt I had to stay and manage the project myself
