Going to bed early is social death – but it won't stop me

For years my sleep has been exactly four hours and seventeen minutes. Can set my clock to it. Wake up with a ping, wide awake. Early mornings before dawn are best. That's when I crunch through the numbers. Then coffee with girlfriend/wife at around 8-ish in winter, followed by a shower, breakfast, and at the office by 9. Except for later nights like now, with soccer or dinner guests or a gripping book or journal (I read only non-fiction, a real deficiency).

Come to think of it, it's quite bizarre posting this sort of irrelevant info on a public forum. I must be losing it.

I hate sleep and actually wish they can invent some type of medication that just recharges you like sleep does.

I tend to go to bed at 1-2am and am also a lot more productive during the night than during the day.

I have developed the ability to cat nap while still being awake. you basically prolong that moment just before you sleep.

you know its working when the eyelids drop and the eyes become red.

after about 15 minutes of this process you feel refreshed and alert.
