Hey guys,

I need some help please ... I have a 21" CRT which I was using for graphics and photography ... and the damb thing has just given up the ghost

Could you give me any tips on a good, cheap, TFT screen that would be good for correct color which is important for photography and printing.

Thanks in advance
Vic

One of the most popular monitors on the forum seems to be the Samsung 2232GW (22") :)

What price range are you looking at?

I am also looking for one but it seems like the popular Samsung/LG we get in SA all use TN panel, which according to some online review the correct is not that good compare to Toshiba/Sharp panels.......

Samsung 226bw is crap if you looking for colour in terms of photography.

you may want to stick with CRT for such things that offer better colour calibration.

Strange, my 226BW has the best colour of any monitor that I have ever owned. Guess it depends on the panel ;)

typically CRT far outweighs LCD for this kind of thing.

in most of the reviews around the 226BW ( I also have one) they do not recommend the monitor for professional use such as what the forumite requires. I am not too concerned around print stuff so it didnt phase me.

Also for print the high ms response time loses something or other - cant remember what.

thankfully ALL my work is digital so it aint really phase me.

That is how I understand it to be. They need constant calibration to achieve that accuracy as well as a generous warming up period.
