You don't really need to spend an arm and a leg on a laptop. I think for 10k you should get something decent.

Absolutely, you can get a PC laptop that has the same specs as the 15" Macbook Pro for R10k. Won't have the good screen or the same high end build quality but you get it for a lot less also.
