Work:
When working, talk less do more
Equality does not exist
You do not have to respect your manager but you have to respect the position they hold
Learn the difference between a right and a privilege
Listening will teach you a great deal
Keep sensitive information to yourself

Very nice.

Basic IT know how and skill, bonus would be ability to string together scripting languages(Python would be good I reckon) together with Linux & windows task scheduling systems.

Why? General experience of applications and services combined with the above let you do a LOT of automation like a pro when combined with other software/apps we use daily.

Ability to do this, abuse different technologies for their strength and pipeline results in a workflow in almost any field, will give you the edge. When ever I speak to or watch people of different fields do their day to day jobs I see many instances where a programmatic solution can reduce the work required and often it's not that hard to do!

Say you were miraculously transported back in time to the middle ages or even before ... when technology of smithing was high-tech and medicine was founded in mysticism or religion and a little bit of kitchen (gastronomic) common sense.

What is the skill set you want to have. You can only choose one. So for example you can not wish for a degree in chemistry and practical skills in ironmongery. Only one.

Which do you think would serve you best.

Common sense, although few people seem to have it, its probably the most important.

Mechanics course? How to change a tyre, oil, maybe service a car...but I think this is falling away as cars get more complex and need proper mechanics to maintain. still good knowledge though
Nope not getting more complex... as long as it's internal combustion(even a rotory) it will need oil, an oil filter and spark plugs. If not it doesn't have an engine it has a motor(electric) and then you will need to be an electrician not a mechenic

You can probably service a Ferrari yourself after watching a 3min youtube clip

Do you know how to set up a TV entertainment center? Or anything that works with electricity?

Do this and old ladies will love you everywhere.

Drivers License: To drive around and things, helpful in an emergency
Advanced Drivers License: Don't know much about them, anyone have one?

There is no such thing as an Advanced Driver's License.

Just training and certification, not that the certification really means all that much except maybe for a small insurance benefit in some cases.

It is highly recommended though.

I spent most of my student weekends working in Retail even though I studied engineering. I found working with customers to be a great life skill.

I also regard multilingualism as an important life skill. (Glad I got to speak 3.5 languages)
