Hey guys, I like food, I guess like most people... So I was thinking maybe we can get a nice list of good restuarants going, also nice places with specials (Even if its al'cheapo places, etc.) Ofcourse also the promos...

I'll start of by saying that the "All you can eat prawns" at Jimmy's Killer Prawns is really a good offer, only problem is that it doesnt run all the time (as far as I know, anyone know when or how it works)

Also I want to know if any of you guys know of a good Buffet Sushi place in the Cape Town area? All you can eat good quality sushi?

Discuss :D

IS this for real? That is an incredible deal. I would have paid that in early 90s for langoustines alone. Is this specific to the Village Walk Adega?

Yup its for real dude. Was there on Friday for lunch. Yeah specific to the Village walk one, it was their opening specials.

The flyer says the special expired end of April, but they still have them out and the waiter said they still running it for a while longer.

I had the platter, must admit not the biggest langoustines, but still great.

PS Village Walk is in Sandton, Johannesburg

While walking through Village Walk, Tivoli restaurant also has a weekday lunch time special, Pizza, Coke and a salad = R20.

They have a huge yellow board outside with the special written on it, with some other specials too.

I love everything about Lekgotla. Food, ambience, atmosphere, service! Very nice restaurant. Lekgotla is at Nelson Mandela Square, Sandton.

I love all the Codfather restaurants. My favourite being the one at Camps Bay CPT.

The Meat Company in JHB do great steaks as do The Bull Run. In Durban the Butcher Boys was awesome.

Durban also had some great restaurants one of my favourites being Platos on Broadway but I think they closed. Was also Eat Greek at one point I think. The Chinese restaurant at the Edward Hotel was amazing too.

Specials are another way of saying "We're sitting with a fridge/warehouse full of stuff that is teetering on the cliff of Salmonella. We need to offload it fast."

Bravo - Cape Town, Mouille Point. R69 and R99 lunch specials - both 3 course meal specials - prices vary dependent on what you want to eat.

Not always true, but who cares?

Aslong as it tastes good and nothing happens to you, whats wrong with that?

Also dont know if you guys know about FEAST (its a Buffet only restuarant) in Cape Town at Somerset Mall (Between Meltz and Tiger Wheel and Tyre) The place isnt "classy" but it has some really good food for a great price...

Tuesdays and Thursday its R69 for all you can eat (Includes, prawns, calamari, traditional south african foods, chicken, etc. Also puddings...) Rest of the week I believe its R79... Their prawns isnt the biggest but you can eat as many as you want, also the calamari is really good...

Fournos woodmead have a breakfast special for R20, not valid weekends and until 12:00 only but you get egg, bacon, toats, jam, sausages and coffee included - extra egg is about R5.00 so not too shabby.

PS croissants damn expensive at almost R12 each do try not let your eyes wander while you eat.

AVOID - tribes. Damn, they used to have ribs that melted on touch, went their the other day for supper and I have had softer biltong!!
