ChatGPT Search now available to all users

OpenAI is rolling out a search product to all users of its chatbot ChatGPT beginning on Monday, escalating its rivalry with Alphabet Inc.’s Google.

The product, called ChatGPT Search, will be available to any user who is logged in with an account for the chatbot across the company’s mobile apps and website, the artificial intelligence startup announced at an event Monday.

Misleading, only available to all IF
You're registered
And that means they know who you are
And that means NO

Later I'm sure when they relax more, IF we can disable the AI features not desired.

So I tried this out and I’ll give Chat GPT points for 1) giving more meaningful information at a glance, 2) taking an attempt at summarising what it had found, and 3) disclosing its sources transparently.

Google does none of those things (featuring a quote about Discovery FROM Discovery). Then again, Chat GPT’s sources included Business Tech, Hippo, and SEO articles on insurers’ own websites, so maybe it doesn’t put as much weight on authoritative sources as simply official sources.

It has been a known fact to my understanding that AI uses fictional data in responses, so.......do we want facts or fiction? I will for the foreseeable future stick to Google.

Who else had their website search impressions just drop to zero on Google? I can't find anything wrong on the search console and I haven't made major changes recently.

The same thing happened on Bing earlier this year and then a month ago it just came back on Bing with better results than ever before, coming very close to that of Google, but Google still plays an important part in search unfortunately and I am wondering if it might be related to sabotage? I did request support via the search console and logged a ticket, but after almost a week, no response.
