Thornton (Goodwood) is also on the list with 290 sign ups required.

Townsend Estate, Vasco Estate, Richmond Estate, Goodwood Estate (Goodwood) requires 274 sign ups.

Hopefully 123NET will combine these numbers.

Cool, will check the list to see if they add Glenwood to the Goodwood numbers in due course.

The trenching in Frans Conradie is for a new power cable for Goodwood. They are going to build a new sub station at the fenced off area next to the Fire Station. This will replace the older sub stations in the area.

Yes, another 268 sign ups required. Then they will have to be converted to contracts.

10 sign-ups needed for Lightspeed.co.za

Lightspeed has offered to connect Townsend Estate or Townsend Street if they can get 10 sign-ups on their R899 package. 400Mbps - 200GB Cap + 1TB night Cap. We are 600 meters away from the main Fibre line in Vanguard drive. Anyone in Townsend Estate or Townsend Street who wants to sign up? I'm in, so we need 9 more.

That is DFA Fibre I presume.

I'm in Richmond Estate, near DFA fibre that runs down Vasco Boulevard & Voortrekker.

Contacted Lightspeed & they advised as follows:

We can make the FTTH services available to your location and your neighbours’ from the closest fibre route, provided we can obtain approximate combined customer uptake of R11 810 per month. Please bear in mind that each additional address will change the minimum uptake amount, as the distance is the main factor affecting the viability.

The above translates to 13 or 20 signups depending on which package is taken.

The 20GB at R599 is way to little and 200GB at R899 isn't going to last long either. :(

I'm not sure whether it will be worth it to canvass the neighbourhood.
