Apparently fiber is live in Goodwood nearby the goodwood sports club.
Anyone know who the cables belong to?

My in-law got a quote from PCNetwork and just trying to find out which other ISPs he can check with.

The MTN Trenching was for a Cell Tower, i spoke to NetCube(The installers) currently no FTTH in the area, i am a few meters away from the trenching. Why don't i set up a form via my website and we get a few signatures and i will provide that to a few Fibre companies?
Let me know your thoughts.

I am based in Milton really close the the parking lot where the Learners are.
My ADSL line sucks so need to get Fibre asap.

I find it strange that they trenched all the way from a DFA POP at Goodwood Mall (Dingle Rd) to Vasco Boulevard as there is another DFA POP on the corner of Versfeld Rd & Murray St which is much closer. It also hooks up to an existing MTN line in Vasco Boulevard. See the exact route the trench follows.



Where will this Cell Tower be installed?

That is weird, this was Netcube's reply:

Thank you for your enquiry, the fibre installation that was done in Goodwood was for MTN but it was strictly cell tower related and not Fibre to the home nor business.

Unfortunately we have not been updated on any FTTH roll out for Goodwood yet.

They didn't specify where the cell tower would be.

There must be a few business or homes wanting fibre in Goodwood, can't understand that nothing is here yet.

Obviously the first fibre company (vumatel, frogfoot etc) who comes to promote in the are would definitely get lots of interest and sign ups.
Had to battle with Telkom for 2 weeks now as i am on 20mb VDSL and synced on 6mb/s with my SNR at 5.9 and sometimes 2.0. every 3rd month my line goes to hell.

Another thing, ATC put up a Cell Tower behind Li's Kitchen and the school in Hofmeyer St and no trenching was done there. Must go scout the area again and check for existing fibre lines.

Vumatel ISP's seem to be jumping the gun.

Vumatel is planning to deploy aerial fibre in Goodwood using CoCT electricity poles. The challenge is getting it to both sides of the street as the electricity poles are only on one side of the street. Same type of deployment will start within a few weeks in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town.

Deployment in Goodwood can start as early as January 2018. For now we must get people to show interest. Currently at 7%.

Ok so we are currently at 112%.

Does anyone know what the average lead time is between when target is reached and the atual network is installed?? Gatvol of dropping ADSL lines, can't wait for FTTH.
