Google and Facebook are stealing talent from Europe

Last week, the FT reported that a group of Britain’s best-known quantum computing scientists had moved quietly to Silicon Valley to found a startup called PsiQ. The lure was the abundance of venture capital that can’t be had in Europe.

The American VC firm Playground, set up by Android’s founder Andy Rubin, has invested in the new company. Judging by Playground’s track record – two of its most notable successes were sold to Amazon.com Inc. – PsiQ may very well end up becoming part of Big Tech’s trophy collection one day.

No... Europe is loosing talent to the larger pool of cash in silicone valley.. European companies surely have the funds to buy these companies in the same fashion as the US tech giants..

My cousin says that quite a few of his friends from uni back in the 90's have left for the US, and a lot of younger people to, but that the positions are being filled by people from outside of Germany/Austria, so it's "all right" for now, don't think anyone is really worried.

Germany still has quite a large IT group.
