Google has reduced the price of its Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X smartphones for the festive season, and is throwing in free overnight shipping.

Not just SA but everywhere besides the US.

Often on tech sites you see US-only deals & offers & the comments is always something like "why is this never in Australia/Brazil/Canada/Portugal" etc

Use NYbox, Stackery, Shipito or any of the other. Will still be way cheaper than Orange store or Zeek.

Hang on tight guys and gals, I said this would happen in a number of Nexus 6P threads, but this is not the only cut. More cuts will come sooner rather than later.

The Nexus 6P is over-priced, not only here but even in the US. US$499 is a crazy amount. People will not buy the device at that price. Not even the crazy over-priced $449 device.

I predict the Nexus 6P will retail, within coming months, at no more than $330.

You will get these devices much cheaper on eBay than what you will ever pay for them at any SA company importing them!

You need to check from which country the device comes from. I almost think one of the US devices, but I stand to be corrected, will not work on our 4G bands, or supports the 4G of only one carrier, or something like that.

Just check the device and the bands it support.

Still, the device at this price is not worth it.

I'm currently in the US for holidays and considering this $50 off promo, my concern is i'll get a US model as it will probably just default to that as it's a US only special of the US store. There doesn't seem to be any way of selecting the model you just add the device to the cart and checkout (https://store.google.com/product/nexus_6p) , bit risky
