Google Desktop vs Windows Desktop Search

Honestly i need a good desktop indexing tool which will not slow my PC at start-up but must also deliver at fast speed. Which of the two do you recommend? i also tried Copernic which i find it useful ...

Haven't tried Google Search but I'm pretty satisfied with Windows Desktop Search on 7, not a fan of it implemented in XP.

Be aware that Google Desktop has been known to chew bandwidth as it communicates with the Google search servers continuously. It can chew through several gigs a day.
