Google invites media to a secret event

Maybe a version of Android that will go head to head with Windows 8 and OSX

Play ground is open....I'm guessing a few new nexus devices from different manufacturers.
For all the android kids(manufacturers) to play instead of just one per device.

Probably Nexus LG with 4.2 Mentioned http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...d-of-October?p=9140750&viewfull=1#post9140750

Pity I will not be able to make it :( so live stream it is.

I'm hoping it's a Nexus 10" tablet with 3G or 4G.

That would be nice indeed and may even have enough to beat the ipad 3 but maybe a bit too late since windows 8 tablets are the future IMO.

Don't think we will get 2 nexus devices at the same time. Also Surface will be killing the news for the next month or 2. Releasing anything tablet related will die in the flood of news, not to even mention the new iPad Mini wave at the same time.

Best strategy is to leave such releases when you can hog all the news.

True, you have a point, most likely the nexus phones from various manufacturers then....

Doesn't help much if any of these Nexus devices are expensive like the iPhone

The tip is "Playground" ... so in my mind it has nothing to do with hardware but with the Play Store and what it will offer where. New content? New emphasis? The emphasis seems to be on games/gaming.

Google's own take on the XBox integration into Windows (Phone) 8? Partnership with Sony PlayStation perhaps?

Google Android console? :D

Its called Google TV + Normal Android games :)

Google is in the process of merging the TV version of Android with normal Android, you can already run some games on it, add to this the fact that Android can use normal Wii and PS3 Bluetooth controllers and you see that the Google Console is not so far off.

See http://www.google.com/tv/apps.html#tab=games

Edit: I am already using my TF101 + HDMI and PS3 controller to play Asphalt 7 on da big screen.

Today I was trying NFS Shift on my TF101 in my bed through splashtop

I have had lots of trouble with my wireless xbox controller and my TF101 while trying to play Android games like GTA, I've even tried gamepad apps but bupkis. I need to try again though with 4.1
