Android gains smartphone market share

Google’s Android smartphone software stretched its market lead in early 2012, helped by new models from handset makers like Samsung and HTC and piling the pressure on rivals like Research In Motion and Nokia...

Ok I know I am a Fandroid, but Spain = 72%, someone should tell em there is other OS's out there.

In my View Android should not go over 50% in market share as it will cause it to stagnate... Competition dammit, we need it.

Interesting stats, and good to see the diversity.
But who on earth is "Kantar WorldPanel". That is most assuredly not one of the top market research firms.
Is MyBB putting up more link bait? Naughty naughty...

I'm being going over to Android in the coming days. Quite excited, as I'm a bit of a linux geeky fan, although I'm a corporate that wears a suit. HTC One X, will be hardware of choice and looking forward to customisation of my mobile. I think IOS/ANDROID and even BB have their strengthens within key markets.

Keen to see what the future holds

You have to admit though, for a single Manufacturer such as Apple, they are doing exceptionally well against the multiple Manufacturer Android family of devices.

Just Saying..!

I agree with you. I am also an Android fan, but they must not take over the market too much. We need better!
