Headlines Tomorrow.

EFF and Julius Malema express outrage at Minister Gordhan wanting to get help from Solidarity stating that there are plenty of capable people in the country that can fix Eskom and that he and Ramaphosa must step down.

And the wheels on the circus bus will go round and round ..

Yes, what the SA NAtional Anthem should have been:

A lot, I am also wondering why is it Gordhan who is doing that, something about it sounds off, Eskom has management and HR who should be dealing with this stuff.

Ministers meddling like that even if their intentions are noble is very improper and could be interpreted as abuse of power.
Can't see how André et al would mind. Sure Solidarity would've discussed this with ESKOM and ESKOM with the minister so if a union came forward with solutions rather than demands they'd probably be happy.

Gonna be very difficult to work there if the people working for you, don't like you; are almost impossible to discipline or fire; the consequence for their non-performance will land on you.

The reason Solidarity needs to contract their labour to Eskom with the areas being maintained only accessible to those employees. Strict handover and acceptance of completed work protocols.

That's not the point though, there is a good reason why things are done in a particular way, why politicians are not supposed to involve themselves in operational matters, it has nothing to do with Andre minding or not minding.

It's improper and it opens a path of corruption and nepotism, the same path that leads to where we come from when politicians pushed their people into powerful positions in SOEs.

Tomorrow it will be minister of Education with a list of experts that has been compiled and given to her by Sadtu to be employed in the department, do you see the problem now? The same people who don't see a problem with this Gordhan/Solidarity deal would be screaming blue murder if that happened.

Eskom has an Exco and a board of directors, there is absolutely no room for Gordhan to be poking his nose in there, the man is a politician and should be sticking to his lane and not running a recruitment agency side hustle for Eskom.

The points you mentioned might make sense to you, but it just comes across as ironic to me.

Perfect description of SA under the ANC for the last 30 years. Thanks.

So Eskom should no longer be an SOE because anything the government involves themselves in leads to corruption and nepotism.

Finally you are seeing the light, this a truly a glorious day.

Its a pity it took you until “searching for the white man to employ” to raise this point but I guess its better than nothing.

The management and HR that let Eskom be how it currently is?

The logic being that because it has happened before there's nothing wrong with it?

No, allowing it to happen in the first place is the problem.

The ANC was handed one of the best profitable electricity producers in the world. It took them only 28 years to undo 72 years worth of work. Yes, Eskom is 100 years old this year. Not much to celebrate though...
