Our SA presence continues to grow - this time we're looking for a junior developer plus a junior salesperson to join our team 
About Us
Appenate is a Brisbane-based startup founded by me (lewstherin, old school MyADSLer), building a leading business to business mobility platform, aimed at the IT channel and enterprise.
Our rapidly expanding customer base is increasingly European and US based, which led us to establish a team in South Africa to improve timezone coverage for our users.
We have embraced the concept of a distributed company, with staff working either from home or out of co-working spaces.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join a lean, agile and exciting company that is globally focused and working with cutting edge mobile and cloud technologies.
Being a small company, we expect all team members to be ready and able to learn fast and work across many aspects.
To join us, you need to be self-starting, disciplined and able to communicate well.
If you don't want to work from home, no problem - we'll cover the cost of a desk at a co-working space near you.
At the moment we have staff working out of Durban's funky co-working space - The Sett (www.thesett.co.za).
Free lunch and all day caffe-quality coffee is part of The Sett's awesome benefits.
Our preference is to find someone in Durban, but our arm can be twisted if you're the right person for the job.
We all hang out in HipChat and Skype, so you're in constant contact with the whole team.
You'll be setup with whatever you need to be productive - Macbook Pros are standard for our developers.
This role has plenty of scope to learn and grow as the company expands.
Starting salary range for both positions is R15,000 to R25,000, really depends on your talent and experience.
Developer Requirements
Our entire code base is C# and we love the language.
We use Xamarin tools for mobile app dev with an ASP.Net, SQL Server backend running on Azure.
Experience with C# is thus strongly preferred.
Some combination of the following skills is also needed:
- SQL Server
- ASP.Net MVC
- JQuery
- Android dev experience
- IOS dev experience
- Windows Phone dev experience
- Silverlight experience
- Xamarin experience
- Azure experience
- ServiceStack experience
- RESTful web services
- MVVM patterns
Salesperson Requirements
We're looking for a dynamic guy/girl with IT aptitude - you need to become an expert on our platform in order to sell it!
Our ideal candidate is someone that has experience in the IT solutions space, in customer-facing sales or software support.
You'll also need some of the following:
- Wordpress
- SEO
- Google Adwords
- Web-based sales experience, preferably in a B2B context
- Lead generation and qualification
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to think on your feet
- Strong work ethic and a confident attitude when engaging prospective customers
