Very professional call from Tarryn Fredericks. When I asked that she email me the cancellation instructions, I got this:

Good Day Mr. Roets

The Cancellation process is as follows:

You will need to send a letter or fax stating that you would like to cancel the contract.

You would need to include your full name and surname, identity number and 8ta mobile number which is 081...
This would need to be 20 working days prior to end date which is the 07/07/2013.
Email to retainme@8ta.com or fax to 0880123113872.
You would also need to request to have your number moved to prepaid if you would like to.
If there is any other assistance that you require please feel free to email me.

Thank you

Looks to me like a cancellation letter, not a renewal.

Think you're in for a surprise, dude.

She said it's going up from R200 to R300, but I'll get an extra 10GB at night. So I said I'll take the prepaid product (60+60).

According to the call center you can, as long as you debit order does not bounce, and your account remains active, you will pay R199 for 10GB for life...... So they say.....
But Telkom themselves don't know what they offer half the time so it could change at any minute......

Pleasure, I have called more than 50 times (really I am not exaggerating) since November 2012 and got the same answer every time.
Also went into the Telkom & 8ta stores (5 to be exact) and also was told the same.

So I am pretty confident it will remain @ R199 for life....

I was told that it will be R299 from now on...also got a call today? However the girl said that should I not renew .or cancel my contract that I will stay on a month to month basis! I find that hard to believe as Vodacom told me the same and then proceeded to deduct the amount of a normal data bundle off my account and not the amount of the contract subscription...
