Sign up with GoogleNice board, much better looking and specs than my G31MX-S2. Then I was puzzeled by some of the things between the two boards:
1)When I was with the old G31 board, my Asus Triton 70 fan is only running at around 500RPM with default BIOS setting, but now with the new P35 board, it's running at a minimum of 1500RPM (Full speed 2300RPM), WTF is wrong? Temp is still the same as 500RPM....Checked BIOS and there's only the gigabyte smartfan setting which was enabled.
2)AHIC mode for SouthBridge, after I enabled it after POST will see some DOS look screen detecting the SATA HD, takes a few seconds, is that normal? What kind of benefits will I have by enable this setting with the NCQ and everything else for SATA? (Currently running XP on PATA and SATA will be mainly storage).
3)Is there anyway to enable DES when I OC my CPU?
4)OC capability should be better with new board, but it's won't boot into windows when I increased the FSB a little and made it to 3.0G, lowered RAM's multiplier so it's not running over too much and increased CPU voltage a little bit too. What else could be the problem?
