Government could announce a new R35 billion grant for South Africa next week: economists

Finance minister Enoch Godongwana is expected to give formal clarification on the feasibility of a basic income grant for South Africa when he presents his medium-term budget policy statement (MTBPS) next week, says investment bank BNP Paribas.
Look, SA just doesn't have the finances for it rn. Actually, IMO, a BIG could work but
  1. It should replace most of the current grants
  2. It should have strict conditions that are heavily reinforced
  3. Should act as an incentive to find jobs, become self-employed and not to become a gov-sponsored NEET

Hows this throwing money @ people for votes going to help unemployment? this guaverment knows no bounds, why are they not resurrecting neglected industries in the townships that the pre-94 govt build & were fully maximizing output then . Example in EC - those dead Berlin clothing factories and abandoned factories along the n2 route
