I mean... the GPAA can't be incompetent... so these ransomware people must have gotten lucky and reproduced 668GB worth of data from the GEPF system by sheer coincidence. Sort of like how a bunch of monkeys on typewriters will eventually produce Shakespeare...

Must have happened in Zuma's days
Would never happen under Serial Ramaposer

Startling revelation in data breach exposing personal data of every South African government employee

The Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) says the data leak from LockBit is "extremely concerning" as its administrator — the Government Pensions Administration Agency (GPAA) — told it that no data breach had occurred.

The LockBit ransomware group added the GEPF to its list of victims and released a 668GB file allegedly containing data stolen from the GEPF's systems.
I hope that the SA authorities are in touch with the FBI? Here's the link for LockBit victims around the world: https://lockbitvictims.ic3.gov/

It's dumped on the dark web already. I saw it with my own eyes a few days ago. Names, Adresses, Pension numbers and amounts, ID Numbers... the works.

Someone should send a few portions of the files to that fraud of a GPAA.

Perception counts most in politics, If a political opponent decides to run with it then voters will believe anything.

Sadly because of our voters way of thinking that if they don't vote ANC, apartheid will come back. This, and their cultural loyalty that views the chief (President) as a demigod that can do no wrong.

That and the free T-shirts plus 2 piece Kfc at rallies, will be our undoing.

Ok so rather than being hackers, can the hackers maybe use analytics tools so we can check the salaries being paid through, and if they all still work for the government.

I would imagine there are quite a lot of Ghost Employees.
