So, the keep left rule no longer applies in your mind?
Try to understand what the difference between a dual carriageway and a multi lane road are.

Don't drive a car they said.I'd use the pavement if it wasn't for all the cars parked on it! Times are changing, aside from people who have to walk, more and more people are choosing to walk and ride bikes, and roads are no longer exclusively for cars, we need to share and make roads safe for everyone. I honestly don't see the problem with slowing down in urban environments.
Government must first ENFORCE compliance to basic road signs such as a Stop street, before attempting to reduce any speed limits...Government must reduce speed limit in urban areas to 30km/h - Urban expert
The government should drop the speed limit in South Africa’s urban areas to help reduce the large number of pedestrian fatalities.
This is according to Open Streets urban designer Kirsten Wilkins, who recently spoke about pedestrian safety in the country on CapeTalk. The discussion followed the release of government’s Easter traffic statistics.
There were 235 fatalities on South Africa’s roads during the 2021 Easter period, of which around 35% were pedestrians.
Look... It's this again.Nobody Stops anymore?
People aren't obeying the rules, let's make more rules.Strange that the solution to the problem is to reduce the speed limit that most ignore anyway.
In addition, most SA drivers ignore stop signs, yield signs, pedestrian crossings, etc. as well.
People aren't obeying the rules, let's make more rules.
People dont obey laws in SA, jaywalking is still illegal and yet it happens right in front of traffic police with no f's given.educate the pedestrian first! like don't cross the road unless at a robot or pedestrian crossing - dumbass!
I can't recall how many times I seen people walking / jogging on the road with a perfectly paved unobstructed empty pavement.![]()
It's a basic rule of the road. Right hand lane is for passing only. Makes no difference which road. You're confusing left-hand traffic with keep left and pass right.
Everybody is an expert; especially their online opinions. You know... die ou manne met hulle wit jassies en dik brille sal jou nou vertel wat jy moet glo, dink, doen en sê.During 2020 I learned that the label "Expert" is very, very, loosely used.
I agree that this is what is what is taught in a driver’s test - but there has to be a leniency to this rule.Try and understand that the road makes no difference. The first principle of the road traffic act in SA is to keep left and pass right.
