Netflix and all streaming services need to withdraw their South African operations.
Give people the US edition and allow access to it without a VPN.
Netflix remains a US entity and should be able to manage their own platform.

The rich are not stupid... The Amazon investment in CapeTown is monumentally good value, and not something Jeff would throw away because Amazon Prime Video becomes a bit worthless in this backwards market that probably isn't worth very much to the Amazon Prime Video business as a whole.

Adding 30% SA content will be followed by a SABC tv license fee which in turn will force Netflix to increase their fees for s&$t I don't want to watch. Seems like VPN is the answer....

As usual these morons have only been able to consider one possibility - that Netflix will be forced to buy all manner of local content in order to balance the equation.
They of course haven't considered the possibility that there is another way to achieve this - reduce the overall number of titles in their catalogue.

As always, the value preposition to the Saffer is eroded because of the way in which the minds of our ministers work (or don't, as the case may be argued).

I think this is what a lot of people don't realise. Our junk status means that investors just get a better deal, we just get more of the wrong kind of investment.
