It makes sense, PIC were buying bulk stock and money was available immediately also government were desperate to sell the odds were in favor of PIC.

Doesn't the government owe the PIC for the SANRAL bonds they bought?

If sold on the open market or opened up to other financial funds they could have made more money to bankroll Eskom.

this is serious people, give them time all in house assets will be sold...I see another Greece.... I dont care if its an in house transfer...seriously the ANC is not transparent with the public....ffs

If they'd put them on the open market, the share price would have plummeted because of the high sale volume where supply is outstripping demand. Selling them all at a known cost was probably the best move.
