Okay, I get the concerns/ complaints but what solutions were provided on the matter by the complaining or concerned party, and what are the cost implications of that solutions?

Seems it is easier to complain than offer plan B.

If you read the article they do say it would have been a lot cheaper to load the vaccines on a regular commercial flight already bound this way.

Phone DHL?

Looking at pics of the last shipment it was what maybe 2 cubes? Couple ton at most.

Hell even I could arrange that shipment in a few hours for definitely less than 500k.

My question is why does it cost R5 million to send a plane , what is saa cost to run a airline? , also if private business is forced to make sacrifices why doesnt saa do it free out of goodwill, after all they have been bailed out so many times they owe the country.

Looks like they returned the three A350's and their A330's. They only have the 6 A340's and the 3 A319's. So pretty much the only aircraft they have at the moment. Wow

SAA are broke and currently grounded waiting on government (rather public purse) to bail them out after creditors are paid. Can't even pay salaries. So, this is a special provision.

It does help with pilots flight time and flight fitness, also keeps the plane going, oil flowing through pipes etc. So not a full waste.
Would be better as a full cargo
