CAF Champions league and Super 15 rugby shouldn’t be there. It should only be national events and not club competitions.

That's cool.. And leave us to pay R1000 for F1 and Motogp.. Nice one..
Brad Binder might solve that for us
The event must involve the South African senior national team (i.e. the most senior official South African team) or an individual representing the Republic

Just get KTM to put the ZA flag on his bike & leathers

Interesting though that they mention it should be the ZA senior team, yet list a club championship like Super 15

Not that I care much about DSTV, but since when can government "make" a company provide its products for free?Seems like a slippery slope, and I suspect that where it's not profitable, DSTV just won't bother with the events.
That is anc marxist socialism for you and you probably didn’t vote for it, but you will certainly pay for it!

Kudus to the ANC for improving on election promises.

They went from Washing machines down to free shirts and now upping the game to free sport content. I hope they are prepared to also promise free tvs, decoders and electricity to accompany the free sport broadcasting.

First the ANC gets everyone unemployed lounging at home and then to solve the boredom they provide free entertainment.

AMAAAZING!!

I don't watch rugby or cricket anymore because I can't afford it. I don't make enough money. I can and want to pay R400 a month just for rugby, cricket, and football with F1 is affordable to stream.

I would rather the rights holder go bankrupt pr close down rather than government interference though.

Perhaps a middle ground would be forcing Dstv to unbundle at a reasonable fee and allowing a guy with a smartphone at the ground to live stream the sports to free to air? Perfect to meet the obligations of law!

Imagine if you had a state broadcaster that could broadcast things free-to-air?

Typical. Fvck something up and then make it someone else's problem.

Get the Amazon Firestick. If you have a decent internet connection @ home then you can watch all the sport, movies etc free. I don't know what it cost in SA, about R 800 once off. Create an Amazon account, it's free and there you go. A mate of mine in CT did this. DTV is very 90's.
