Slow GPRS

Me to - there seems to be a problem with the DNS server my router is using; fixed by a reboot every 3min or so.

are you in 3g coverage area as per map on vodacom website? You may still pick up 3g outside coverage area but as more people connect in official coverage area you get kicked off the grid onto a gprs connection

No, I'm on a farm using EDGE/GPRS datacard in pc; no 3G or HSDPA here.

Ibanez, I am also on a farm near you. Make sure your phone is getting good reception from the tower. My speed is amazingly better doing this for obvious reasons.

Hope I am not saying something you already know...

Try moving around the house/office to connect to a different tower near you, you might also get better speeds this way. I get double the speed from the tower I reach from the back of my house compared to the tower I reach at the front. Bluetooth is rather helpful for this...

Pico Train,

I've a complete investment in the Vodacom solution: HSDPA adapter, Linksys router, Poynting antenna.

My signal strength is 100% but only get EDGE/GPRS connectivity (speeds are more like GPRS+).

Where are you located? Pls PM me; I can send you more info regarding my DNS problems..
