Hi
We are still investigating, will keep you posted.

I just got an sms from mtn that a new cab-file is available for the k-jam. Available on www.mtn.co.za/software and also www.insyncmobile.co.za. The other person in the Jo'burg location previously mentioned has tested this, and finds it has sorted out his non-connection. I will be testing it on Monday.

I assume you are behind this new cab file, Dr_Data. Thank you very much.:D

Hi,

Yep, got the same SMS and have installed the cab - seems to have resolved the issue, which from the content of the sms was only k-jam related?? Any chance you could let me know what the problem was.

Thanks for your help

As far as I can tell, only k-jam.

I am not an expert at this, but if I look at the .xml inside the cab, it looks like registry settings - something called 'GPRS authentication slot'.

Hi,

I found that as well, I wonder why only the k-jam? Surely this might affect all windows mobile 5 devices.

Been using the new CAB file the entire day today, and haven't had any further problems. Well done MTN, looks like you got this one sorted...

This be the response i got when i asked the powers that be:

"There were two issues regarding this. The initial one in Feb was the patch on the network which was resolved and the second one recently was a software on the handsets that needed a cab file to be downloaded."

sorry, i know its not conclusive, may leaf has something further to say about it?

Hi all
Please test now and advise if there are still issues. We reset one of the sites that serve the area.

Can you do the same for the Oaklands, Jhb area please?

I spoke to Zair from 1555 yesterday and he said its a 3G covered area but I only get 1 bar 3G coverage here and since for the last 6 months now I get frequent disconnects or errors saying gprs unavailable on my Sony Ericsson P800 and on my E620 when connected to GPRS/EDGE.
