MTN's website seems to claim that My Choice Top Up customers can now have data bundles on their accounts. Something tells me it isn't true.

On two attemps on phoning 808/173 each consultant has kindly told me that GPRS bundles are not available to Top Up customers, so why is your website telling me that they are?

Can anyone shed some light please?

Data bundles is supposed to be available on all MTN packages, from prepaid to the biggest contract.

MyChoice TopUp is not prepaid but postpaid so data bundles do definetly form part of the package.

How it works though on the TopUp's are a bit more complicated. You have to have airtime loaded on your account to be able to load the bundle. Once you have loaded the airtime, then you can dail 141 and follow the voice prompts to load the bundle of your choice.

because of all that effort, it is a lot easier to get a MyChoice (Non-TopUp) contract instead of a TopUp for the datacards. The only difference between the 2 are that no airtime needs to be loaded in order to use the simcard because you are billid if you use more airtime than the allocated amount. The other reason is that bundles can be loaded onto a normal MyChoice and will then be automatically loaded each month whereas on the TopUp you have to load the data bundle yourself everymonth.

You need to load the bundle via your SP it can't be done via 141
