Grand Theft Auto maker sued

I find myself torn on this issue.

One side says "good, yes - they lied in order to get their game rated lower, and perhaps so they could leak the info, and boost sales".

The other side of me says "sets a bad precedent if they (Rockstar) lose the case. Did they know the pr0n was there? What if some disgruntled employee of MS hides some pr0n in Vista and then leaks it - what happens then?"

Will be interesting either way.

Pretty odd...

Strange to make such a big deal about the sex minigames. The game is marketed towards the adult age group. People need to realise what the real causes of violence are, and stop going for the obvious targets. If you don't like it, guess what.. you don't have to buy it!

Personally I dont need the government or anyone else to baby sit for me, i'm all grown up.

Except, at first it was not. The age rating was only changed after the "mini games" were found. (I forget what the original rating was: 16 or 18).

If you dont know about nudity or sex at the age of 16, then your a lost case anyways.

True, but it does not negate the fact that Rockstar (willingly or unwillingly) released a product that did not meet the legal requirements as to age restrictions.

I just wonder whether the issue is Sex or that Rockstar lied about the rating.

AAAAAARGH!

Prime example of parents passing the buck.

The original rating for this game was R which was later changed to NC17 (I think). So now you want to tell me that something rated R is ok to buy your 12 year old kid but something that's NC17 isn't? BAH!

Besides, sex is such a non-issue with these games. Giving someone an orgasm is hardly the worst thing you can do to them. None of the bloody parents seem to have issues with little Timmy shooting police officers and stealing cars. Just heaven forbid there should be a little nookie.
