Here's my review:

I had one UTD one WBS arial and one Gres Arial...

Tests included uotrace(of www.iburst.co.za), telkom speed test, ipcop disconnection log and accessing the UTD to find signal strength from tower.

Overall the tests I found that:

The arial is better than WBS's one:
-better signal from and to tower
-higher speed on telkom speed test lower pings and more consistent connection on outrace
-less disconnections
-more directional (which helps eliminate trouble base stations)
-cheaper by a great amount

The arial however didn't fix my problem as we were still being disconnected although to a lesser degree it was still impossible to use Iburst for us.

-Gres is a great guy and has helped a great deal and when the arial still didn't work do to our location he refunded at no cost.

We need more great people like Gres in this world.

i would think that a base station would work similar to a cellphone tower where is just stops acepting new connections. it only kicks another person off if the *new* user has a higher priority.

Everybody welcome!

Tower workload: up to 20 simult. users - everyone have 3 x 370k = 1M; 21 - 30 2 x 370 = 2/3Mbps~700kbps; 30 - 60 everyone = 1 x 370k.

Hi Seburn, I think I can Help, I take Gres's antenna and mount it were the best iBurst signal is on your site, that really works, on average we are getting gains from 18 -30 dB, done many installations references available.

Even connected users in areas were no iBurst tower! yep thats right, tower is about 20 + km away!

look at : http://www.phoenixnet.co.za/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=38 for more info

Many happy customers, as I said reference available.

send me a PM if you want to talk!

I use a d-link router look at my connection time:

Connection PPPoE Connected

IP Address 196.2.x17.xxx
Connection Time 489:02:16
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.255

Oh, did I mention I get close to 1MB/s during day time use!
