And now we wait for the leftists to say that climate change is a hoax and protest about this tree planting idea


There is a bit of a problem with trees. They don’t live forever. Apart from being nothing compared to the co2 numbers we produce, within 500 years or whatever the trees they plant and more will all die and decompose into carbon dioxide.

These are pretty closed cycles with some co2 reduction.

It’s noble and understandable but won’t fix the climate change problem.

Trees do not decompose as you think. Most of the carbon get captured in the trees and then in the ground. The ground in old growth forests is full of organic material.

Probably a bit, but the human cost of it isn't worth it.
