buycomputers are advertising the viewsonic 922 @R3208.71 on the website

phoned em to buy one, but was told that errrr the price is actually R3600 something.

Computer retailers will probably be pulling the currency card again now. Not withstanding the fact that their stock was imported at the stroger currency.

Thats no fair - especially with existing stock

It is also their right not to sell to you or state that that batch is out of stock and the new batch is at a new price.

Ja - but they still advertising on the website at the lower price.

In fact if I buy through the website using safeshop I will get the website price surely?

Most online retailers will have something like the following to cover them:

"We strive to advertise all prices and illustrations correctly at all times, however, the management of Makro cannot be held responsible for any changes or errors that may occur."

Actually no. Advertisement is just an invitation to the consumer to make an offer the advertisement is NOT an offer in itself. Therefore there is no binding contract.
