...your phone will drop calls if the wind blows, or if you're indoors (cos our bricks are different).
And you won't be able to make calls if you're moving.
And you may need an additional dish antenna....installed on your car.
And you will only be able to use words with five or fewer letters.
You won't be limited to how long you can talk, or how many calls you make, but you'll have to talk veeeeeery sloooowly.
The phone as it comes will only understand American english, Rodent will have to tweak the software for South African english.
You may not be able to speak to anyone when you want to, cos you're sharing the line with 30 other people. Everybody will get a share of the line, even if they're not making a call.
You'll have to check a web page to find out if you'll be able to make a call from wherever you are. Even if the web page says that you will, there's no guarantee.
You'll have to keep another phone as a backup.

Someone should really put together an article and publish it all over the show as "Sentech - Big Plans - But lacks the IQ". Ive already phoned their someone in marketing and laughed at them so badly, the person on the otherside said "Sir This call is recorded and we will be taking you to task". I laughed even harder. I dont know whether to call Sentech orcs or clowns? I am confused... Someone please shed some light.

Sentech announced its partnering with Autopage on 17 June 2004. I think the Autopage people have held back on their public announcement until the service works and they could get their own Technical Support desk in place.

On the "cellular" side, my question is simply this: is Sentech referring to GSM 3G or "Third Generation" in general. If GSM 3G, then what frequencies will they use? The same as MTN, Vodacom, etc? I doubt it. So once again we'll land up with incompatible equipment. And if it's just general 3G, then isn't iBurst already a "cellular operator"?

I visited the IPWireless.com site and they seem to imply that their system has always been GSM 3G compatable. Once again I think there is <b>too much marketing hype</b>. And in my book there is not that much difference between hype and outright lies. After all, these statement are coming from the same people who reckon that MW128 is a "broadband service", conveniently forgetting out the word "contention", which in Sentech-speak is different to the normal English meaning.
