New iPads launching soon — What to expect

Apple's latest generation of the iPad Pro is set to launch in "a matter of days" and will pack the company's M2 processor, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports.

The tech company could also unveil a new entry-level iPad with a USB-C port and a design similar to the high-end iPad Pro.

I thought the launch the other day was ‘The’ launch for the year and they announced everything?

Okay, iPhones (and related accessories), but you knew that already and would know they announce their product lines that way. So, why the feigned confusion?
I know this is tough to understand at first - but not everyone follows Apple as a company or their launches.

Doesn’t make sense to launch a new iPad Pro they did that already.

They’ll launch a new iPad to replace the ageing bottom of the range one.

Why? The Pro was boosted last year as per your diagram. At best it needs the new chip and not much else.

The normal iPad needs a complete re-design and hopefully an M1.
They *need* a new set of Pros to take it into 2023. Obviously the outgoing Pros have more than enough horsepower for any overhead but cycle wise their time is due. M2 chip, supposedly fasting charging & some other incremental things.

Apple will definitely not put an M1 chip into a “povo spec” iPad, it’s not conducive to their bottom line. There needs to be a clear distinction between the vanilla line, the Air & the Pros. They will finally redesign it this year & give it USB-C & whatever else we will find out shortly.

Finally moved the camera! Excellent.

Sadly still no FaceID on a normal iPad reasonably priced iPad.

And still the old pen…WTF!?!?!

But then it’s gone USB-C…and you need an adaptor to charge the pencil.

What? Surely the upgrade path logic can’t be the only thing at play here. This is just stupid.

Highly stupid.
