I've also do that with various agreements (home alarm, etc)
I guess I'm just a n00b to paperwork then. I was a bit taken back by it.

If i draw up a contract and give it you, you can legally change my document without my knowledge and if i sign it the contract is legal and binding?
I never knew that.

Yes. If you sign the amendments. They are initialed and dated. It's not legally binding until counter signed so one person cannot unilaterally change a contract...
Yea but dj that is what i am asking and yes i am wrong perhaps the guy who did this informed them and made it clear he had changed the terms, if they failed to read it then ya i get it, it isn't fraud and well done to him. However did he make it clear that he had changed it or did he edit their document without letting them know in a way that it looked like it had not been edited?
So they assumed he agreed as there were no clear indications he had changed the terms. That is what i was thinking when i read the story, i wasn't thinking he clearly changed the terms and clearly stated he made changes, i was thinking he basically amended the document so it looked original thus nobody picked up any changes. That is why i thought fraud initially, forgery even crossed my mind but if it was done properly and it he stated he had amended the contract then yea of course it's legit.
Calm down from the coke dude. Anyway, I so agree with the "little man" reading and changing the contract. I have done it a number of times. Just stand up for your rights.
