I think this will be the best solution then and take it from there.

You might just be onto something.
Johannesburg was the setting for the launch of the new C10 hatchback that will eventually replace the more familiar Florid in South Africa. Another Toyota Yaris lookalike, the C10 actually uses a remapped version of the Florid’s 1.5 (that uses a Toyota block…)

Also ask around for the Florid clutch while you at it.

Excellent. Thanks. If I can find the vehicle it is based on I wont think of selling it cause then Ill know what spares to get with GWM out of the picture.

Can you tell the difference? One is GWM the other is a Yaris.

Very strange, I always thought GWM used Mitsubishi based engines...

From what I can gather, local experts all agree it's a Toyota design. However, friends in the far east and Wikipedia say it's a Mitsubishi 4G13/4G15!

Very confusing...

this is what I always say about Chinese cars,

either its a good copy of a well known make, or a bad copy,

if you manage to figure out its based on a Toyota Yaris, or a Mitsubishi mirage underneath,
then I sure it will share parts with the original car, and then getting mechanical parts wont be an issue.

Personally I won't buy a Chinese vehicle, this one was a gift, so I won't complain too much.

R4600 for a clutch is nothing. its not expensive. Spending R4600 on a car you got for free sounds like a bargain.
Just keep with a OEM clutch.

Can you think of anything that justify the price? Not like it's a performance clutch or anything like that, The price of the clutch must be in line with other cars in the same class.

Wow, and I thought R 1,300 for our Ikon was high (Midas) xD

He is talking about OEM, I guess in the world of ridiculously inflated prices, R4600 is cheap. Not that the is anything OEM to stress about in that particular Chinese car, non OEM parts can even be better.
