A new customer of mine says she has been hacked by the same guy for years now(she knows him) , does not matter what she does he finds ways to get in. I am not sure yet as of what exactly is happening she is compiling a list for me to have a look at.

How can I monitor her PC for hacking activity? She bought Norton 360 and I will install Malwarebytes and Spybot, What else should I do? Will post her list as soon as I have it...

Thanks

double check the AV exclusion lists and Av firewall lists for any apps etc that might have been added to an exceptions list.
would be interesting to know what the symptoms are of being "hacked"
what network setup do they have?
It could be possible that the person is RDP'ing or whatever to another machine, then attacking from there?
I would double check the connection breakout, (it should have a firewall which you might want to configure)

What does she mean by hack? Does he access her files?

As stated earlier - analyse the system logs and processes, followed by re installing her operating system (but keep a copy of the logs if you can).

Keylogger/rootkit.

Grab some rootkit detection software. Install an IDS. And most importantly teach here to use a linux LiveCD for important stuff. Maybe also check the for physical keyloggers (bit of a longshot). Change email pwd.

I'd also install Commodo firewall, but thats more of a personal preference.

Your Malware & Spybot thing is worth a try but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Also ask here to tell you about the dude. Specifically whether he can write code or not. If he can then Spybot etc won't help.

First thing ask her to tell you why she thinks she's been 'hacked'?

What does he access - her email/ files/ web server etc.? How does she connect to the internet?

Hi
I asked her some questions, she can’t really answer me specifics, he used to stalk her with emails and told her he can trace her. She basically blames all her computer problems on him. I told her to phone me when she thinks she is being hacked so I can asses it.

Hahaha so if i start sending emails to someone , it means I can hack ...
I dont think this question of getting hacked. I think its a situation of the lady in question watching too much Holywood and believing this guy`s threats.
I bet this guy has never even accessed her PC .
