Update with the Nokia Software Updater tool via the web. Just remember to back-up the phone before the time

Like spacebar said. Just download the Nokia Firmware Updater from www.nokia.com, plug your phone into your pc, and it will do the rest.

While you at the nokia site, get yourself the latest version of Nokia maps too. That way you can download the maps for SA so you dont need 3G when using SatNav.

Depends where you got it from, if it was a store that doesnt push high end phones chances are they still have old stock.

i got it from mtn in eastgate..so does the new stock have better build quality then the old stock? but i thought the sand suppose to be new stock since it came after the plum? beside the firmware version is there any differences between the old and new stock of n95?

I received my sand coloured N95 in April from MTN, so I doubt it is new stock only.

Battery life is not the best in the world, but if you run dual networks, plus Bluetooth, plus Wi-Fi, plus GPS you surely dont expect the battery to last days?

Mine is pretty stable (as V10, and now as V11), BUT I did not istall hordes of badly written apps on it....

Vodacom/MTN ... The networks do not lock their phones anymore, or rather MTN does not.

tony200sa, if you do not like the phone (You keep on complaining about it!), maybe you got the wrong phone for you? Why don't you sell it?

MTN only has Sand, Voda has both colours.

Yip if you read up on the phone, they crash, battery life sucks..... all normal, turn 3G off.

Nokia overseas will probably take months to clear out V10 stock before they start distributing V12 units.

I got my phone from Vodacom about 3 weeks ago with V10, crashed a few times so I upgraded to V12, and it's been perfect since then. GPS locks on in under 30 seconds, no crashes, battery lasts for days (bluetooth and WiFi off).
