My experiences on various towers I use often:

Horizon View: Great speeds, 15kbytes/s, around 100ms latency, 0% packet loss
Brixton: Used to be great, but now only 9 to 11kbytes/s, 350ms latency, 5% packet loss
Bedfordview: Sucks

Overall, I am happy still.

my theory is... us early subscribers who jumped on the bandwagon quite early are the ones that are suffering. everytime a new subscriber comes on line we get bumped one down the ladder, thats maybe why most new subscribers are 'still' happy, but give them i month or so, when they are a third down the ladder

could this be? maybe im wrong?

(maybe i should re-subscribe lol)

the last 2 days my speed sucked, getting bursts of up to 512k but averaging about the 128k region... gonna open a ticket tomorrow if it doesn't improve...

Help save the bandwidth. Decent download speeds for TheRodent! Stop downloading now!!!

I'm not at all happy. But since most of the people on this site aren't, a survey here is probably not going to prove anything. The people that are happy are.. well...using their connection for the reason that they bought it, not griping here.

Better for all the users on this forum to complete doris' poll. More data makes it easier to see patterns and to fight Sentech.

Im reasonably happy. I used to see speeds in good times of 15.5KB/sec average. This has dropped to 14KB/sec or below. I would say that during everyday (on average) I have times where it goes at half speed. Then there are those days where it goes 3KB/sec no matter what you do.

But overall im ok with it.. maybe not happy. Im totally anti-telkom so I wont use their products. MyWi has given me 24/7 net access and a bunch of other advantages. Luckily im a technical user so I can handle most problems. I feel sorry for people with limited knowledge of the product and of the poor support.

With everything I still would not cancel my contract if given the option. I would like the number of months reduced though, amongst other things.

In summary I guess Im a "happy" user so Im not into bringing down Sentech just yet.

Happy is a relative term..........(No NOONE not your coussie)

I have OK speeds..... I say this hesitantly due to the fact that have experienced the 1kB speeds for over a week and a half......

The problem i have is that i do not believe in SENTECH anymore at all..... they dont do anything to support the customer, they have not addressed any issues at all (other than claim that 2% crap) and if I dont believe in a supplier, well i am NOT HAPPY.....

They screwed up by not saying that they had a problem.......which we know is continuing for some.... waiting for my turn to come around again..... and therefore I will support anyone who has bad speeds ( I never know when.....NOTICE THE WHEN.....my bandwidth is going to degrade again)

This microwave failure (repeatedly) is also pathetic......they obviously dont know about redundency and therefore need to attend ISP 101.....redundency,redundency,redundency

So I am NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER.....[:(][:(][:(]

Happy , 256K package

Mostly get around 25KB/s on downloads from large servers
and get a average of 30KB/s when using a download manager

Most downloading is done during business hours

It does slow on weekends a bit, but not much

Browsing does seem a bit slower than downloading large files

so there are happy people.... maybe sentech are right when saying 2% unhappy, put it this way, if you happy, surfing, downloading, no problems why you gonna go sit on a discussion forum?

now im more depressed...

(maybe if your uploads exceed your downloads they shift you to the crap list... remember rodents meeting where the sentech dude showed him the graph of some peoples uploads exceeding downloads... could it be??? if you are a big p2p user you screwed?)

Just look at the numbers in this post. We have a sum of 5.5 happy users. Just look at how many UNhappy users there are. Even if we just take the populous around here, that regularly visit, then the majority are unhappy. The other "happy" people just represent a larger populous.

I think it's fair to say that if out of 50 users that visit these forums, 5.5 are happy then Sentech has their stats wrong.

That's what I hope to prove with this weekend's wardrive. That they're lying through their teeth about the extent of the problem. If I get proven wrong, then I will believe that there are a few towers that suck, and that the problem is limited.

But I don't think I will be.

As far as I am concerned, I dont care how many ppl are happy or unhappy. The fact is that sentech have not kept up the deal from their side period. Even if there is 1 person not getting the prommised service something needs to be done. Its easy for them to stand there and shout 1% 1%, but at the end of the day that 1% are paying their subs just like every1 else, and they should get nothing less than what was prommised to them!

Well, I'm not a happy user. It started off fine - got it in March and it was good, delivering what I expected. Today I'm not. Downloading today at 6kb/sec, which is better than a few days ago of 1-2kb/s but in no way can it be described as broadband. (Imagine a 200Mb download from a local server taking 20 hours!)

And yes, I'm happy that it's generally 24/7, given the large amounts of money I was handing over to Telkom every month on dial-up.

3 out of 10 to Sentech - which is still a fail.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I have an inferiority complex. But it's only a little one.

maybe we should try to get one of the happy people to go on the war drive too? and login using different combinations of devices / passwords.
