Quite a step up in price there, bud :)
Cool. Looks like importing will be cheaper. How long did it take to ship ?

No problem

Our price is higher as we have the item in stock and provide a local warranty where we swap out the item if faulty.
No customs have to be paid and no long waiting times for delivery. (2-3 days via Fastway)
The prices you have above are excluding import duties and shipping costs

Goodluck with your decision

Thanks for that - Just ordered one for a MBP that the main SATA port died on last year. The missus will be overjoyed if this works and she can have that old MBP. :)

And if it doesnt I'll use it in my current MBP - win/win.

Indeed. In all the excitement I had forgotten about DX. Thinking of doing so myself now. Thanks Segg

Sorry for late reply, but it took about 2.5 weeks till I had it (Had to go to JIMC to whip them into fetching it for me though)

Picked up my HDD Caddy yesterday. Didn't have to pay any customs charges either. Item was marked as "Gift" :)
Thanks for recommending dx.com. I will be using them all the time now :D

Since we ordered around the same time mine should be showing up soon!?!

Were you able to track your shipment?

I can't recall if I had the option for tracking. It arrived via registered mail though, so maybe you could ? I'd suggest calling your post office. Mine was there since last week Wednesday. Only got the notification to collect yesterday.

So, just to update ... That caddy from DX is brilliant ! Everything lines up perfectly with my 2011 13" MBP. I was concerned that maybe the holes for the screws might be slightly off or something, but it's almost as if it were a genuine part with the way it integrated into the machine. A bit tricky to install, but definitely no need for sending to an Apple specialist to have done. A quick YouTube video explained everything I needed to know, and it all took about 20mins to get done. Now running a Samsung 256GB SSD in the main drive slot, and the existing 750GB HDD in the optical bay slot. It's a fast and sexy little beast now :D

Mine's been stuck in customs for a couple of weeks now - good to hear it should be a smooth installation once it gets here!

Did you go the Fusion drive route? If yes, does the HDD spin the whole time? Is the caddy plastic? If yes, what about heat generated by HDD?

Thanks. I meant create your own fusion drive with the SSD and HDD.
