Hardware Bargains 2 - Electric Boogaloo

Did it arrive on time?

DHL is normally excellent with my Amazon stuff. I've had them rock up at my house at 8PM on a Sunday before.

Well on time as in within the cut off, yes, on the very last day, but they sat on it for 48 hours and could not provide a valid reason why. The agent BS'ed me total fibs. Essentially the item traveled from Osaka to Cape Town and cleared customs in the same amount of time it took them to deliver from their Cape Town depot to a Cape Town based address.

DHL's standards are deteriorating. This is the first time they dropped the ball so badly. The used to land on Sunday and they'd deliver on Monday. Then from this year an additional day of delays occurred and now it's 2 days of delays.

The box was also mauled a bit as though someone swept it with their finger on the side. But the Sony headphones were sealed.

Damn really good price, like really. That's what I paid for the 9070

Same. My only concern would be power consumption for my setup. 9070 works with my 550w PSU but might struggle with a 9070xt.

It would at 80w or more.
I mean I would like one as well I've got a 750w so should be fine, but yeah wouldn't know what to do with the 9070

You should be able to undevolt/underclock it without any issues. Then upgrade the PSU at a later stage.

They are all secondhand?!
I've never seen a retailer selling used headphones, especially not so many, some are even only in "fair" condition

I'm guessing this might be from a call centre that closed, or some such set up.

They are awesome iPads and it’s so nice having 128gb as base storage, no more needing to endlessly clear space to install Apple's 16.5Gb iPadOS updates

This is the cheapest I've seen it.

Rather tempted myself.

how many years of use would you say this would be good for?

The big selling point here with the Gen 11 is the A16 SOC (same one as used 14 Pro/Max & the 15 & 15 Plus) & the 6gb RAM.

My Gen 8 is starting to struggle now with only 3gb, the reports are saying the 6gb make a substantial difference hence I am super keen on pulling the trigger one of these days.

Depending on your usage case I would say a realistic 5-6 years & if you're not doing much "demanding" things a fair bit longer.

I've had my Gen 8 for about 4 years now FWIW.

Definitely very well future proofed, leagues better in that regard than the previous 10th gen model, I doubt you'll see it as cheap as it is now until the replacement model is released.

I bought an ipad 11 A16 today, from the istore for R6699. Seems someone forgot to remove a promotional ad but they still honored it.

Now I'm awaiting ipados 26, there's some cool new features that give it the MacBook kinda of feel.
