This is literally the last month of the warranty so I filed for a replacement via Takealot.
This might work.Download Audacity,
export audio of video in editing software,
open the audio file in audacity
select a sample of the hiss
click "effects" then select "denoise"
click "get denoise profile"
select entire audio
Click "effects" then select "denoise"
adjust tabs and preview audio until you get desired result
This might work.
Have you tried setting the audio balance on your camera itself?Swapped it for another replacement on Takealot and the same issue happens. I'm thinking of returning it now for a refund.
I did some research and apparently it may be due to a "preamp" issue with the camera itself. Are there any mics I can buy which won't have this issue?
I put the camera down to 8 level volume and the hiss is still very noticeable. Granted, I see you had a good mic and the one I got was only R350.Have you tried setting the audio balance on your camera itself?
I had a hiss on my Rode mic, though it didn't solve the issue totally, I got it to the point where it was only noticable if you were listening out for it with good headphones on.
This is the model of mic. Maybe the newer version has fixed the issue.
