Has anyone tried to cancel their ADSL line?

I have tried to do so for quite some time now for many reasons, including poor service, high cost etc.

Problem is I cannot find the right person at Telkom who is willing to cancel my line for me - keep being referred to other people, given fax numbers instead of voice numbers etc.

Bottom line is that my ADSL line has not been cancelled and I am still being charged for a service that I no longer require.

If anyone has a phone number to someone direct where I can cancel this service, I will appreciate it.

Last year I had to cancel my service as I was moving. I went to a Telkom office and asked the lady to cancel my ADSL, she couldnt do it as the ADSL is supposed to be seperate from them or something. Anycase, I wrote my details on a paper and she faxed it for me to the ADSL people and a few days later someone called me to confirm the cancelation and it was done.

To my knowledge Telkom's Business Call Centre handles all ADSL related orders / cancellations - but beware - their service delivery is also not always up to standard.

The number to dial is 10217
