Has someone ever broken into your home?

Growing up at my folks place, yup. Stole cutlery, meat; weren't no cell phones & iPads those days.
As an aside, as a thief, a home robbery surely has to be the more risky/ least rewardy? Maybe the person is away for a few days and you can cart TVs out somehow, but trying to get in, avoid alarms, dogs, people, to get what you can carry in a few bags?

Not yet, but they have tried. I have ridiculous security which they haven't got past yet. But one day is one day I guess.

Home invasion count? 2010. Midnight. My home security (was renting) was very lax. Thankfully it turned out we were one of the first over a 4 month odd period. Unfortunately for others, they escalated to rape as well. Eventually one was killed by a security guard, another arrested and given an effective 40 years. The other vanished, most probably back to Mozambique, but I prefer to think of him decomposing in a landfill somewhere.

Nope, not yet and I hope they never do. Will be a VERY bad day for the perp if he/she does it while I am home
Used to think like this. The reality is that these fukkers have turned professional now and come in groups of 5 and more, all armed. I have video footage of a break in at my house in 2014, thank God nobody was home.

Under 2 minutes to bypass electric gate, 2 dogs, metal gate, door and alarm, take whatever they wanted and leave.
Armed response guys appeared 18min after alarm triggered, police yet to come, 10 yrs later.

I'm my case I was convinced that the maid was involved after carefully analyzing video footage and the fact that she was conveniently sick and absent on only that day. Fired her and will never employ another one
