Hi,

I have a Dell D820 and I took my laptop into the Vodacom store and purchased a 3G package. I asked then to do the install and due to their systems being down I left the store onlt to find out 4 days later that the card does not work. After much searching and many phone calls I was told that this card does not work on the Dell machine. This card causes my machine to freeze up and on removal of the card it causes the machine to reboot.

I have tried the OPTINN and Novatel cards and they work.

Vodacom refuses to swap the card for me as this card works on other machines!

Any ideas/suggestions on how I can get this to works ?

Hi Viza,

I recently received a new notebook from my company to use for work, it was also a Dell D820 and I have the same problem you described. Luckily my personal laptop is an HP and the Hauwei card works fine.

Maybe there will be a fix soon?

One of my users at the office also has a nu Dell D820, and the VC HSDPA card, but he doesn't seem to have any problems, had a few wireless issues a while ago, then the VC HSDPA card was saving grace in staying connected and getting his corp mails.
