I would like to know if it is possible to operate a mtn hsdpa card on vodacom by inserting a vodacom sim? Are there any sofware changes or else as I notice that the Hauwei e620 is approved for vodacom.

have not tried it yet, but somewhere on the forum it says it is possible. i.e not network locked.

I have used a vodacom sim card in my MTN Hauwei Data Card and it works. With the MTN software. just go to settings and put in internet as your apn.

Been using either a MTN simcard or a Vodacom card in my e620. Using either the MTNF@stLink or Vodacom Dashboard s/w.

With the MTN s/w you have the capability to dail and use voice on the card(nice for getting your balance, whereas the vodacom s/w does not have that capability.

Trying to use the new Virgin card in the e620, but still a problem.

Nowadays neither phones or datacards should be networked locked!

I got it with my card but the Dashboard s/w can be downloaded at http://www.vodacom.co.za/services/3g/downloads/software/VMC_6.03.0002.0.zip
But beware it's 53.7MB
