POER always over Po(ers) Cannons haha
What about warranties? In terms of its performance, it just needs a tune and it will pick up. My 2.0 tci H6 was a bit of a slug before I had it tuned, now goes really nicely.
Congrats. So the P-Series... Signing for the top spec 4x4 tomorrow. I drove all the worthy competitors and nothing comes close to the interior, and electronic safety tech. I took two weeks to test drive every other 4x4 option - some nearly R300k more in price. The P Series is a resounding yes and my decision was not based on the much cheaper price compared to the "market leaders". It was on pure merit, build quality and driving experience.
Lack of proper media coverage in South Africa doesn't really help in the research department, so I had to go test everything myself. And let's be honest, anything that is not a Hilux or Ford automatically gets dissed as bad.
Once word spreads on how good this bakkie really is, I think the sales volumes are going to explode. I have many questions how Ford and Toyota can place their high end offering at about R300k higher - and keep in justifying it after the arrival of the P Series.
Now, just fingers crossed about the fuel consumption with the new diesel engine then.

The entire experience has been very fluent and a pleasure with the dealership. Due to a delay with the banks, I will only sign tomorrow.Congrats.
Please keep us posted on the purchasing experience & the ownership experience later down the line.

Well, this is a big tun off for me.Haval South Africa 'surprised' by GWM Steed 5's zero-star safety rating
Haval Motor South Africa says it is “surprised” by the sub-par safety ratings handed to the GWM Steed 5 and Haval H1 by Global NCAP.
In the latest round of testing by Global NCAP and the Automobile Association, the SA-spec Steed 5 scored zero stars for adult occupant protection, while Haval's H1 settled for two stars (Renault’s Kwid was also evaluated, likewise scoring two stars).
Global NCAP rated the Steed 5 bakkie’s structure as “unstable”, saying the vehicle “demonstrated a high probability of life-threatening injury” in the crash. The H1's structure was likewise described as "unstable".
Haval Motor SA, which also runs the GWM brand on local shores, said safety was not only its “top priority” but also “part of our DNA”.
“We as a company are surprised at the results of this round of testing, which included two of the vehicles in our stable, as we proudly meet and exceed the standards as set out by the National Regulator for Compulsory [Specifications],” the Chinese firm said in a statement.

First long distance trip happening next week (Pretoria to Cape Town) so will have good and proper feedback on long distance drivong and fuel consumption.
Will share as much information as possible for those looking at the P Series, but can't find a lot of info online. I am no vehicle expert, but I'm going to give it a shot![]()

Yes very excited. Also about the fact that I will be one of the first to share "real world" info about it.Gotta give it to you for being brave, anyways can’t wait for your review and pics. Congratulations
I will definitely let you guys know . I will post the reading on the trip computer vs manual calculation at the pumps.Let us know about the feul consumption, the petrol engines offered in the suvs are terrible without tweaking. Hopefully the diesel is better mated to that zf box.
