Have to RICA again when converting contract to prepaid?

Just want to confirm if this is the normal process. I converted a prepaid sim to contract a little over 2 years ago. The contract has since finished, and I requested it to be converted back to prepaid. This morning I got an SMS saying this has been done, but that I must RICA it to activate the service (I've got "No Service" and when trying to phone the number, it says the number doesn't exist).

The thing is, I've already gone through the RICA process before, a few years back when everyone had to do it. Is it normal to have to do RICA twice? And I just want to confirm, it's not like I've lost my number, it's just "offline" until I do the second RICA to activate it again?

Last week I converted two contracts to prepaid, in preparation for porting. Was not asked to reRICA. Continued without interruption.

Thanks for the feedback. All I can think is that when I got my contract and new phone, they also gave me a new sim, and the rep didn't RICA it somehow. Not sure how that would even be possible, but the guy was pretty incompetent, so wouldn't surprise me. Just hope it's nothing worse than just redoing RICA to get my number back.
